DMAW's The Best of Direct

Join with your fellow direct marketers on November 13 as the Best of Direct are honored. The celebration will be held at the National Geographic Society, 1145 17th St. N.W. , Washington , D.C. , from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The fun-filled evening will include entertainment, a networking cocktail hour, and a sit-down dinner.

Sponsored and planned jointly by DMAW and the DMAW Educational Foundation, this inaugural event will honor many of the leaders of our local industry. The two organizations are combining for the occasion to showcase their 2008 award winners.

Chief among the awards to be handed out is DMAW/EF's Sisk Award for Direct Marketing Vision. The Sisk Award has been given since 1992 to individuals or organizations whose pioneering vision has shaped the direct marketing industry. This year's winner is GEICO for its ground breaking, imaginative, and successful work in direct response marketing. Accepting the award for GEICO will be Amy Furhman.

Additional DMAW/EF awards include the first-ever Michael O'Hara Leadership in Education Award for a college professor, and the annual John Swain Memorial Scholarship given to an outstanding college student.

DMAW will be honoring members with a number of awards, including: the Award for Distinguished Achievement in Direct Marketing, the Rising Star Award, and the Volunteer of the Year Award.
