The Programs and Activities of the EF Are Broad Ranging
The Professors Institute is now an annual event that allows professors’ to learn some of the nuts and bolts aspects of DM while they are being immersed in the latest developments of our fast paced industry. Each year 20-25 professors from the mid-Atlantic region attend sessions with a mostly DMAW member "faculty" that donates its time to the effort to encourage the teaching of dm at the collegiate level.
Regional Career Days enable DM professionals to visit colleges and universities for intensive one-day programs on trends and developments in our field.
The Speakers' Bureau provides schools with active DM professionals for classroom programs on a broad range of topics. The DMAW members who have volunteered their time for this program have found it to be both fun and stimulating. John Jay Daly, the Speakers’ Bureau chair, hopes to have a rotating group of 25 volunteers available to speak on a wide range of topics. If you are interested in joining the group, please contact him at speaker@johnjayday.com or at 301-951-9110.
The Academic Advisory Council was formed in 2007 to develop a stronger connection with the collegiate marketplace. The council is composed of selected professors from leading colleges and universities in our metro DC area. Its mission is to learn how the DMAWEF can better assist professors and their students in direct marketing. This council has been organized under the efforts of EF board member, Dr. Marilyn Liebrenz-Himes, a professor at the of Business, The George Washington University.
