John Spencer, Senior Vice President, Business Development, Wiland Direct

John Spencer is Senior Vice President, Business Development for Wiland Direct where he leads the national sales team assigned to nonprofit charitable and political verticals. Wiland offers various products/services to the nonprofit community including customer modeling/analytics/segmentation; major donor probability scoring and new donor prospect lists for multi-channel fundraising.

Prior to joining Wiland Direct John worked for I-Behavior, Inc. (KBM Group) serving as Vice President, Business Development where he was responsible for selling solutions-based client participation in the I-Behavior cooperative database, and for Abacus (Epsilon) where he led its U.S sales team and established Abacus Canada, the first Canadian cooperative database.

John served as the Monfort Executive Professor in Marketing, Monfort School of Business, University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO. He is a graduate of Miami University, Oxford, OH (B.S.) and Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO (M.B.A)


Dennis Lonergan, President, Eidolon Communications

Dennis Lonergan is a 30-year veteran of the direct marketing industry and has worked with many of the nation’s leading progressive non-profits and political candidates. As a co-founder and partner in Eidolon Communications, Dennis has been writer and creative director behind award-winning packages for such organizations as International Rescue Committee, Consumer Reports, Human Rights Campaign, amfAR, Compassion & Choices, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and American Farmland Trust. He has written for four presidential candidates and leading U.S. Senators including Ted Kennedy, Tom Harkin and Mary Landrieu.


John Graves, CEO, Eidolon Communications

John Graves has been a partner in Eidolon Communications for more than twenty years, during which time he has developed strategy and management programs for a wide-range of non-profit accounts, including International Rescue Committee, amfAR, Compassion & Choices, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Heifer International, Human Rights Campaign, Consumer Reports and American Farmland Trust. Prior to forming Eidolon, John was National Program Director of the American Social Health Association, where he stewarded ASHA’s winning bids for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control’s AIDS Hotline and National AIDS Education contracts, personally directing the launch of the CDC AIDS Hotline.


Angela Struebing, Vice President, Client Services

As a direct marketing executive, Angela has successfully created, designed and executed multi-channel fundraising programs for dozens of non-profit and political clients. By leveraging predictive analytics, she drives results through data-driven decisions joined with creative strategies for member and donor acquisition and retention. As a consistent contributor to the thought leadership of the direct marketing industry, she has been invited to share her expertise as a writer and presenter at numerous conferences and publications. Angela serves as President for CDR Fundraising Group working with clients such as Wounded Warrior Project, MoMA, Toys for Tots and the Christian Appalachian Project.


Megan Contakes, Principal, Integrated Direct Marketing

For more than two decades, Megan Contakes has been a human rights, civil rights, and social justice activist. Since beginning her fundraising career in the early 1990s, Megan has worked with dozens of organizations to design and implement direct response, foundation, major donor, and planned giving programs.

Megan’s principal expertise is in combining current events and programmatic work to craft winning fundraising messages. She is also recognized for her online/off-line integration skills as well as her ability to manage the operations of large-scale, multi-media, direct response programs.

Megan is a Founder and Principal of Integrated Direct Marketing, a fundraising and communications agency that specializes in progressive advocacy and charitable giving.


Marie Kosanovich, Account Director, The Lukens Company

Over the past 18 years, Marie has worked in a variety of capacities in the direct mail industry. Her experience includes nine years at a commercial printing company where she started on the production floor and was promoted to Customer Service Manager. More recently, Marie has managed production and overall direct response strategy in the nonprofit fundraising field. She has worked with several museum, veteran, and environmental clients, including Heifer International, National Trust for Historic Preservation, and Defenders of Wildlife. She has now been with The Lukens Company 3 years and manages a team of 5, overseeing such clients such as the Art Institute of Chicago, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Clarion University with a concentration in marketing and received her MBA from Frostburg State University.


Rick Christ, Vice President, Online Fundraising, Amergent

For over 30 years, Rick has been on the analytical and data side of direct marketing and fundraising, testing new lists, new package designs, and new media. At Amergent he serves dozens of successful regional healthcare institutions, food banks, and other clients.


Kristin McCurry, Principal, MINDset direct

Kristin McCurry, Principal of MINDset direct, is a 20 year veteran of nonprofit fundraising. Since founding MINDset direct in 2005, Kristin has partnered with the nation’s most vibrant and visionary charities including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Catholic Relief Services, American Red Cross, The Nature Conservancy, ASPCA and others.

Prior to MINDset direct, Kristin provided direction and strategic management as Vice President for Epsilon’s Washington, DC fundraising office. She also served as the National Director of Direct Marketing for the American Cancer Society.

Kristin is the immediate past President of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington and is active with the Advisory Council for the Direct Marketing Association’s Nonprofit Federation. As an industry thought-leader, she is a frequent spokesperson and her viewpoints and case studies have been published in a variety of publications including The Non Profit Times, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, and Fundraising Success. She is also a frequent lecturer and educator for the DMA Nonprofit Federation, AFP, DMFA and DMAW and at leading universities including Georgetown and George Washington University.
