Jaye Lopez Van Soest, CFRE, Director of Development, American Foundation for the Blind

Jaye Lopez Van Soest, CFRE is director of development for the American Foundation for the Blind which is working to create a world of no limits for people who are blind or visually impaired. Jaye has over twenty years of fundraising experience in various roles, previously serving as development director for Public Justice and for UDC Law and as Associate Director for Membership & Events for the American Constitution Society. Jaye is a past president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Washington DC Chapter (AFP DC). Jaye served on the board of directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and was co-chair of AFP's Diversity & Inclusion Summit, held October 2013 in Pittsburgh. Jaye served as chair of AFP's Diversity & Inclusion Committee in 2015-2016. Jaye was co-chair of the 6th Annual Bridge to Integrated Marketing & Fundraising Conference held July 2011 in National Harbor, MD.

Born and raised in suburban Los Angeles, Jaye graduated from the University of Southern California. She currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her spouse and a cuddly black Labrador Retriever mix named Jackson. She is a voracious reader and enjoys travel and opera and especially pairing those two things together.

Angela Guzman, Digital Strategy Director, K2D Strategies

Angela proudly integrates 20 years of grassroots fundraising and advocacy experience from the nonprofit, political and corporate sectors into her strategic partnerships at K2D Strategies as digital strategy director.

Angela has served in senior leadership roles both agency and client-side, from vice president at Integrated Direct Marketing, to director of direct marketing with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).

She is well-versed in managing day-to-day operations and client relations for a suite of progressive nonprofit clients.

Prior to joining K2D Strategies in late 2018, Angela supported nearly a dozen political candidates across the country, including women of color and LGBTQ candidates in the 2018 election cycle to manage creative and implementation for their fast-paced email fundraising programs.

Angela was a founding board member of the nonprofit, Dream Project, to advance academic achievement and higher education for immigrant youth, and has also served as chair of the board for NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia.

An active participant in Democratic politics at the federal, state and local levels, Angela has managed campaigns and various roles to encourage civic participation. She is proud to call Charlottesville, Virginia home, along with her husband, daughter and Plott hound.
