Emily Stevenson joined Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) in 2012 as its first dedicated Online Fundraising Manager. Since then, Emily has increased personalization of members’ relationships with the organization through advanced segmentation, targeting, and behavioral –based trigger marketing to deliver the right offer, at the right time, in the right way. Trained as a social scientist, she seeks to apply the science of decision-making and choice architecture to nonprofit marketing and is always looking for new ideas to test, often drawing inspiration from the marketing tactics of online retailers. Prior to EDF, Emily served as Membership Director of the Alliance for Natural Health USA, where she designed and implemented a grassroots email fundraising program and a monthly giving program from scratch, increasing active donor count by 553% over a two-year period.
