Keynote Speaker: Mark Rasch, Chief Security Evangelist at Verizon
Mark Rasch is an attorney and author of computer security, Internet law, and electronic privacy-related articles. He created the Computer Crime Unit at the United States Department of Justice, where he led efforts aimed at investigating and prosecuting cyber, high-technology, and white-collar crime.
Mark is frequently featured in news media on issues related to technology, security and privacy including. He has appeared on or been quoted by NBC News, MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, The New York Times, Forbes, PBS, The Washington Post, NPR and other national and international media. He writes a monthly column in Symantec’s Security Focus online magazine on issues related to law and technology and is a regular contributor to Wired magazine.
He helped the FBI and Treasury Department develop their original procedures on handling electronic evidence. He created and taught classes at the FBI Academy and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center on electronic crime and evidence. He has taught evidence law at the Catholic University School of Law, and white collar and computer crime at the American University School of Law. He has taught other computer and privacy law courses and incident response classes at the University of Fairfax, George Washington University, George Mason University, and James Madison University. He has also lectured at Stanford University, Harvard University and Harvard Law School.
Mark has spent the past 20 years in the private sector providing security, regulatory compliance, privacy consulting, as well as disaster recovery and business continuation planning issues with corporate and government organizations.
Richard Becker, President, Target Analytics
Richard is responsible for overall strategy and business operations, leading the sales, technology, delivery, analytics, and product management teams. Prior to joining Target Analytics, Richard held a variety of leadership roles in strategy, marketing, technology, and operations. Most recently he was Vice President of Strategy with Equifax, Inc., a global consumer and commercial information provider. He received his MBA from the University of Georgia – Terry College of Business, and holds a BA in English Literature from Wake Forest University.
Bruce Demaree, Vice President, Cooperative Data Services, DonorBase
Bruce's 20 years of marketing experience includes list management (Novus Marketing), data licensing (Marigold Technologies), and online directory services (MediaBrains), while his interest in cooperative platforms developed when he assembled multi-source marketing files for the use of telecom and financial services firms at CPC Associates. Since 2006, Bruce has been responsible for the database architecture and client satisfaction at DonorBase®, where his efforts fuel the campaign success for hundreds of non-profits across all service sectors. Bruce holds degrees from Indiana and Yale Universities.
Brent Eskew, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Wiland
Brent is one of those larger-than-life people, with his infectious smile, limitless energy, and easy manner who you can't help but like. After University of Colorado Law School, this proud Colorado son of a wheat farmer and rancher became deputy district attorney in two Colorado Front Range cities: Golden and Fort Collins. There he gained a reputation as an accomplished courtroom litigator in more than 300 successful trials. In 1997, he founded FindYourSpot.com, one of the top Internet sites offering relocation assistance and information about the best places to live in America. Brent is all about excellence—which brought him to Wiland where he and his team handle new client acquisition and business development for a diverse range of business sectors including: retail, nonprofit, publishing, travel and leisure, home and personal services, as well as CPG and grocery. Their efforts cover both traditional direct marketing as well as reaching online audiences through digital display advertising.
Patrick Frame, Principal, Key Acquisition Partners
Patrick joined Key Acquisition Partners as a co-Principal in 2005 bringing high-level client-side expertise to benefit fundraising clients in pursuit of industry-leading solutions for list brokerage, list management, digital acquisition and integrated multi-channel acquisition solutions. Key Acquisition Partners’ brokerage and list management operations have continued to grow steadily during Patrick’s tenure and in 2013 he established a digital acquisition operation within the company which now serves many brand-name non-profits in the areas of display, search, and social.

Matt Frattura is Vice-president, Apogee Data Solutions, at Infogroup Nonprofit Solutions. Apogee, which launched in August 2012 shortly after Matt joined Infogroup, is a co-operative database conceived, managed, and guided by individuals with decades of collective experience in raising funds for nonprofit organizations. Matt most enjoys providing his clients with strategic direction and impacting their marketing programs through their Apogee participation, which has expanded by more than 700% under his leadership.

Denise Inglisa Hubbard, Vice President, Names in the News
Denise brings with her over 30 years of direct marketing experience, serving as both list manager and broker, and in executive, analytical and operational positions. Denise has worked with many notable organizations spanning many nonprofit niches—from organizations working on wildlife, environmental and conservation issues to those with charitable and cultural arts offers. In addition to this work she has extensive experience working with publishing, catalogs and data compliers.
Eli Kaplan, Founding Partner, Rising Tide Interactive
Eli Kaplan is Founder of Rising Tide Interactive. Eli is among the most accomplished Democratic digital strategists, having pioneered many best practices for using big data to target online advertising. He has been cited as an expert in publications such as Politico, Roll Call and Entrepreneur Magazine. His work has led to major statewide victories in states such as Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Washington, New Hampshire, and more. Among people who hold an opinion of banana flavored yogurt, Eli’s is notably strong.
Jason Lott, Deputy Director, Direct Response & Monthly Giving, Human Rights Campaign
Jason Lott joined the Human Rights Campaign 13 years ago and has been a part of the Membership department ever since. In his various roles at HRC, Jason has managed all aspects of the direct response and sustainer programs, as well as budgeting and member services. During his tenure the gross revenue for HRC’s direct marketing has tripled to nearly $17 million, and the Partners program has grown tenfold to 60,000 monthly sustainers. Previously Jason worked at the Shakespeare Theatre and Lake Superior State University. He is on the board of the Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association.

Tim Mooney, Vice President, Not-for-Profit & Publishing, Data Services, KBM Group
Tim Mooney is Vice President, Nonprofit & Publishing for KBM Group, which manages the i-Behavior Data Cooperative. Over the past 16 years Tim has assisted clients in meeting their acquisition and retention goals by offering solutions across direct mail, email, telemarketing and digital display. With Tim’s leadership the Nonprofit division at KBM Group has grown 165% over the past three years.
Jamie Natelson, Senior Vice President, Integrated Direct Marketing
Jamie joined IDM in 2016 and has over 20 years of industry experience as both a consultant and client. In her previous position as Vice President at Avalon, Jamie has managed a diverse set of client accounts, including Common Cause, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, the League of Women Voters of the United States, the Maryland Food Bank, the National Museum of the American Indian and the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Jamie serves on the board of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington and is immediate past President.
Eric Overman, Vice President, Mal Warwick | Donordigital
Eric Overman, Vice President, has over 15 years of extensive experience in direct response, working with dozens of nonprofit organizations, raising millions of dollars. At Mal Warwick | Donordigital, Eric helps craft the best suite of digital and integrated strategies to meet client needs. He began his nonprofit career as Director of Online & Interactive at Operation Smile, received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia, and holds a Master of Business Administration from The College of William & Mary, Mason School of Business. He has spoken at several industry events, including AFP, AMA, DMA, and NTEN. Eric was also honored as the American Marketing Association’s 2009 Nonprofit Marketer of the Year.
Jarred Schremmer, Sr. Director, Digital Strategy, RobbinsKersten Direct
Jarred is dedicated to providing quality strategy, support and superior results for nonprofit clients seeking to advance their mission through the digital space and integrated direct response fundraising. His experience and expertise in fundraising has been developed as a result of working both for and with a variety of nonprofits in a multitude of channels. For more than nine years, he has focused on digital media, helping nonprofit organizations expand their communication, acquisition, response and engagement. Jarred develops strategic campaigns and results-oriented programs with an emphasis on optimization and conversion.
Katie Valvo, Associate Director of Acquisition, The Nature Conservancy
Katie Valvo joined The Nature Conservancy’s Membership Fundraising team in June 2007, managing the Conservancy’s direct mail member acquisition program. As Associate Director of Acquisition, she is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for the Conservancy’s new member and lapsed reinstatement programs across multiple channels. During her time at the Conservancy, Katie has implemented changes in program strategy that have resulted in improved response, average gift, cost to acquire and lifetime value metrics in TNC’s new member acquisition program. Her current focuses include expanding the Conservancy’s high-value donor and canvassing programs. Katie has been awarded multiple Conservancy Marketing awards including an effort to reduced print production costs resulting in nearly $1 million dollars savings in print production.
Britt Vatne, President, Data Management, ALC
With 20+ years of experience, Britt joined Novus List Management (acquired by ALC in 2003) as the second employee in 1991. Her ability to communicate opportunities to the list community has created lasting and lucrative relationships for her clients. In 2011, Britt was promoted to President of Data Management, overseeing the entire Data Management division. She ensures that the team is empowered to operate effectively and efficiently. Additionally, Britt is currently the Vice President of the DMFA and is on the planning committee for the DMANF New York conference.
Dan Wells, Senior Vice President, Wiland
In his 31 years with some of America’s top marketing organizations, Dan’s leadership positions mark him as an expert delivering proven results and performance-enhancing direct mail and digital solutions. He helped grow Merkle in his five years there and before that helped form KnowledgeBase Marketing. Dan has spent almost 32 years in the Nonprofit Industry. He started his career with Wiland Services handling some of the Nation’s top Nonprofit accounts. Helping launch Wiland, Inc.’s Nonprofit Division, Dan has a passion for helping organizations deliver on their missions by delivering responsive optimized audiences through all available marketing channels. Dan has been instrumental in helping Wiland deliver on our promise to “Deliver the Future.”
